This coming from a family that enjoys their cornbread high on the flour/sugar content so that its soft and puffy (ala' Marie Callendar's mix, if you've ever used that.) This doesn't make the waffles or pancakes sweeter by any means, since the regular pancake mix has no extra sugar in it, but it does lighten up the batter to a more "cakey" texture, if that's your preference. They're delicious with blueberries and real maple syrup if you're sitting at the table by the way.
