Gingerbread Cookies, Yesterday's winner and Today's Giveaway

Before we get into the tea time (pun intended) of today's post let's talk. Yesterday's winner from the Give Oh Give Away...The Cookie Cutter People from ... is Kathy! Contact me via email and I will arrange to get your cookie cutter to you...along with that private cooking lesson! Very cool!!
Anyone who missed the finer details of this three day, three cookie cutter and cooking class giveaway...see yesterday's post. Or just know that if you leave a comment today you're entered into today's contest (I moderate comments so if you don't want it posted please let me know or you can also enter the contest privately by just sending me a private email. Please put "contest entry" in your subject line so I know..."). Today's contest ends today at midnight, my time. Only one entry per household per day.

So...today I made the Gingerbread Cookies on the Ann Clark recipe card that came with the cookie cutters. One major difference I saw in the recipe right away was that it uses tea in the dough...and is completely egg less. Love it. I'm a little nuts. I used two tea bags. Peppermint tea would have been so good...but the chamomile was so nice. Whenever I make tea I have that song in my head "Ba, ba, black sheep have you any wool? Yes, sir, yes sir three bags full..." my husband used to sing that when my kids had (cough) "ah-hem..." "fleeting" needs. That's all I'm going to say about that. Really. This picture is just too pretty isn't it?
Also note that the recipe didn't call for cinnamon. After serious reflection I decided to just follow it as written and loved them. Really nice to taste the ginger and clove with the hints of vanilla and chamomile. Nice and calming.
One thing I love is the attention to detail. Pretty little piece of kitchen twine to hold the recipe card to the cutter.
Easy frosting, right?

Classic photo op.
Nice clean cut boys. Like missionaries...but cookies.
This one made me laugh to myself. I instantly thought " Dude...where's your clothes?!"

There you go.

Leave a comment and enter today's giveaway. I have two more cutters and cooking classes to give away. One set today. One set tomorrow. Feel free to send an email if you don't want to leave a comment here or if for some reason the comment feature isn't working for you. Either way, I'll make sure you're in.

Ann Clark is offering my sweet loving readers a 10% off sale for their website! In order to get the deal you will need to enter this code: BLGA13. This will be good through the end of the year! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah...whatever you celebrate or not.

I always have a hard time with cookie cutters. Am I supposed to flour them or something? Likely this is why I generally just make drop cookies. Anyway, your cookies are gorgeous and the facial expressions are great!

Today I spent the day in Aachen but remembered to check back tonight to sign in for the contest. However, I'm pretty sure I won't be flying you to my home for the cooking--you'd just end up going to Paris instead, since it's only a few hours away.

Enter me in your give away, please.
The lesson would be dandy too
The miles between make the lesson a tease
so a cutter in hand will have to do... :)

Wow, your recipes look GREAT. I found you from a comment on Adventures in Self-Reliance.

Your gingerbread men look really cute and I never thought of making a recipe that requires tea with anything other than regular "tea". Since I don't drink regular tea, I never make anything calling for tea - or coffee for that matter either. Herbal teas I have! Thanks for the tip.
