Mustard Seed...The Spice of Faith

Sunday is the day I share a little of my soul. Enjoy.

Many of you know we are having some grand new adventures in front of us. It's always interesting to see what direction the Lord takes our lives and as I have been meditating on this new direction of my life this week, I read a scripture that just hit me really hard,
"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Heb 10:31)
Taken totally out of context, but totally what I needed when it came to my life right now and needing to have a better trust in the hands that are holding me. Why is it so? Why as a human would I ever doubt those powerful and tender merciful hands? Hebrews chapter 11 is perhaps one of my favorite chapters on Faith in general. Which brings me to this little spice here.

This is a mustard seed.  Many are familiar with the verse in  Matthew 17:20 " And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

I could write for hours on the subject of Faith and never really put it better than He did with those simple words. It wasn't a mistake that he used a mustard seed. It's been known throughout homeopathic and herbal health circles for it's qualities  as a "purifier and healer".  It's the quantity of the spice to me that is significant. He didn't say faith like a speck of dirt either.

I'm trusting that the Lord knows full well where that seed needs to be planted. I'm not going to be afraid to let my mustard seed of faith fall  in His Hands. I'm going to be comforted.  After all...He's the Master.  He's not the Master Chef, Master Gardener, or Master Baker.  I've come to know him as the most important of all...the Master of My Soul.

There it is.
