Springtime herbed and painted decorative bread

I had an overwhelming urge to create something beautiful today. Since I had spent a little time yesterday grinding spices and herbs, I felt inspired to use some fine ground parsley and oregano.

Using a paste of corn syrup and flour, I painted the bread, and then dusted it with the ground herbs.

For the vibrant red...berry juice concentrated. "Berry" concentrated.

Wouldn't this be an absolutely stunning centerpiece for Easter Brunch?

Pretty enough to eat. I'm using it as a giant sub sandwhich with plenty of bright red tomatoes and spinach to really accent the bread.

There you go.
