Random Thoughts...Stinky Cheese Man

Homemade yogurt. Homemade cream cheese.

Homemade cottage cheese.
Holy Hannah! When my first baby, Little Man was born, I smelt like cheese for 6 months. Not sure if it was the spit up, or the fact that his little hands would be clenched so tightly that he would make his own cheese curd. It got so bad that we started referring to him as "The Stinky Cheese Man." I even found a children's' book that was like the gingerbread man...but with a cheese man. Ironically we called him the cheese man long before the book. I know you moms out there are relating to this right now. That sweet angelic creature that smells so...sweet. Only after baths.
The one and only time I ever cursed in a chapel was when Little Man catapult vomited hot chunks of white cheese all over my black dress...on my first day at our new church. It was dead quite except for my bold explicative. I was mortified. Not just because I was covered in baby puke, but also because I had just let fly a really bad word. Don't think less of me. I did pray fervently for forgiveness. It's all good. Part of the process. I never realized the day would come that I actually wanted to see cheese being made in my kitchen. Especially after that...however. Now we make cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and soy milk. The kids think its wonderful. We've come a long way. I promise not to even curse once.
So this week we're heading into homemade dairy. Join me if you dare. Oh...I also promise that this will be the only reference to baby puke. The real dairy is quite delicious and I wouldn't want anyone to think the two where in any way related.

I am new to your blog and have enjoyed everything so far. I made homemade yogurt for the first time this summer. I can't wait to read all about your homemade creations this week.
