Artichoke decorative bun

The Little Old Lady from Pasadena lives next door. Yes, I realize her name abbreviated would be LOL..P. I'm really not going to explain that. My boys call her Granny Joe. She is one of the most unique combination of women I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Including but not limited to these traits: feminist, left wing, shot gun toting, championship bowler, botanist, geologist, gourmet, wine grower, painter and devoted friend. A strong and independant spirit if I ever saw one. We did become fast friends too, despite many differences of personal opinion and religious backgrounds. Have you ever seen a Catholic and Mormon side by side laughing in hysterics? Why are we friends? We are both women of passion. Art, being our strongest mutual joy we often share inspiration.

Today LOL...P had to show me the artichokes. Her exact words where "they have wonderful artistic possibilities. " I love her.

I was already creating today, and something snapped in my head when I saw those artichokes...in a good way. Thank you Granny Joe for letting me borrow them! This little bun is painted with an organic whole grain reduction syrup then heated in the oven for a while to dry the syrup, and adhere the flour (white stuff you see). Look on with love and happiness.
Thou shalt love thy neighbor...and their artichokes.
There you go.
